Symposium on Solid and Physical Modeling (SPM) 2024

Call for Posters

The SPM 2024 Posters program invites submissions from researchers, students, practitioners, and enthusiasts to present their latest ideas, ongoing research, and innovative projects in the field of solid and physical modeling. This interactive forum offers a platform for discussions, feedback, and networking with experts from academia and industry.

Overview and Scope

The SPM 2024 Poster Session provides a unique opportunity to showcase early-stage research, exploratory work, and system prototypes in a casual and interactive setting. Authors will engage with attendees, receive valuable feedback, and foster collaborations with the global community of solid and physical modeling researchers.

Topics of Interest

The topics of interest are identical to those of technical paper sessions, including but not limited to:

  • 3D fabrication/printing/manufacturing technologies
  • Anisotropic/heterogeneous/composite materials
  • Applied algebraic and differential geometry
  • Applied computational geometry and topology
  • Conceptual, collaborative, and distributed design
  • Computational fabrication
  • Curve, surface, and manifold modeling
  • Dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Feature modeling, recognition, and understanding
  • Geometric algorithms
  • Geometric and topological representations
  • Geometric constraint solving and parametric modeling
  • Geometric interpolation and smoothing
  • Geometry generation and processing
  • Geometry compression and transmission
  • Isogeometric analysis
  • Meshing and mesh optimization
  • Multi-resolution modeling
  • Numerical analysis of geometric algorithms
  • Physically-based modeling and simulation
  • Product data exchange, standards, and interoperability
  • Reverse engineering/reconstruction of surfaces/solids
  • Robustness and validity of geometric computations
  • Shape modeling, synthesis and analysis
  • Authors are invited to submit a poster abstract that outlines the main contribution of their work. The abstract should not exceed 2 pages, following the style guidelines for Computer-Aided Design (Elsevier). We strongly recommend using the LaTeX template to format your paper, but we also accept papers formatted by MS Word according to the style guidelines for Computer-Aided Design (Elsevier). The file must be submitted in PDF format using the EasyChair website.

    How to Submit

Log in to the submission portal.
Select the "Make a New Submission" tab and choose the Posters submission form.
Provide a two-page abstract, selecting appropriate submission categories and keywords.
Optionally, include a 30-second video and supplemental material in a zip file.

    Important Dates

    Submission deadline: April 18, 2024
    Acceptance notification: May 6, 2024

Note: No physical poster is required at the submission time. Further instructions for poster production will be provided upon acceptance.
